My sister, my best friend, my confidant and my prayer partner, Cynthia Reyes, has been faced with one of the most devastating struggles of her life. She is a wife, mom, Nana, sibling, cousin, and aunt to many nieces and nephews, all whom she would do any and everything for with no hesitation. She has been diagnosed with and is being treated for uterine (endometrial) cancer. I have listened, observed and been a witness as her emotional, spiritual and financial well being have come under attack.
When you are faced with this type of life-altering situation it should be the only battle that you have to overcome. Unfortunately, cancer sucks on so many levels. It tries to steal your faith, your hope, and your joy. It tries to rob you physically. It branches out and creeps around corners looking to rob your family members of their peace as well. Through the tears and the fears, Cynthia and Sam have held on to each other as they hold on to God's unchanging hand. The battle is already won and my sister will be able to say “She is a Survivor.” The bills. They continue to pile up. They don’t go away. I'm asking that you help me, help them alleviate the financial burden so that Cynthia and Sam can concentrate on building up what really matters, their faith, their strength, their physical well being as well as restoration to their family as a whole. I know that Cynthia would be the first to step up to the plate to help anyone of us. Would you consider doing the same and help me to help my sister. No donation is too big or too small.
