Daniela’s Fight against Cancer has ended
Donation protected
It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of Daniela Conte. She passed in her sleep peacefully yesterday March 2, 2020. Please continue to keep the Conte family in your hearts, thoughts and prayers.
A parents nightmare, Daniela Conte is a vibrant 6 year old girl who continues her battle with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma is a relatively common muscle and soft tissue pediatric cancer. What makes Daniela’s case extremely rare is that it's in her liver. There are only a few cases of this documented and almost none of them are in children.
Upon starting kindergarten, Daniela was first diagnosed at the age of 5 and started chemotherapy immediately. Sadly, the first year of chemotherapy didn't kill it all, and now she has started another year of chemotherapy coupled with radiation therapy and immunotherapy.
Radiation wasn't an option the first time because the cancer was so large and spread out. It's much smaller this time and she might be a candidate for radiation therapy in a few months. Additionally, since this is a very rare form of rhabdomyosarcoma, her oncologists are not ruling out a liver transplant if treatment doesn't work.
We need to help Daniela and her family. br />
Daniela is also the oldest of 4 children. Her mother Katia cares for Daniela full time while her father Anthony has to continue to work to support his family. The insurance is covering most of the treatment and care for Daniela, the money raised here will go directly to cover other childcare cost, ancillary things, and anything that isn’t covered by insurance. br />
Please, with everyone’s love and support, let’s help the Conte family together.
