If you don't know me, here is my brief story. In 2014 I was diagnosed with male Breast Cancer. (which is silly as it's the same Cancer women get, just some felt they had to add the male part upfront) I had a higher chance of getting struck by lightning, but thems the breaks. I should have played the Lotto that week. Twenty-six weeks of Chemo & Radiation, I was Cancer-free, or so we thought.
Fast Forward to late 2020, and turns out the Cancer went and hid under a rock and mutated further. So now I have metastatic Breast Cancer located in my right lung. I have had 3 tumors grow in said lung. I am now on what seems to be permanent Oxygen. I've had 5 diffrent chemotherapy treatments, and I am about to start my 6th. I had some nasty side effects from all of this.
So I am working on a short Video about what is going on. I am currently on long-term disability from work. It looks like this disability thing is shifting to a permanent thing. Which sucks. While I am getting paid a pittance of what I used to make, I still get paid monthly, but after taxes, it clocks in at just under half of what I used to make. However, I must send back a quarter of what Long-term pays me to keep my health insurance active. Then to add insult to that injury, one of the essential drugs I have to take to help manage one of the significant side effects of Chemotherapy isn't covered by my insurance. And woof it isn't cheap. Before you ask...Yes, I have looked into programs from the drug company to help. Yes, I have exhausted my resources. (my 401k has already been cashed in) Yes, I am in the process of dealing with SSDI. (working on my appeal for my first denial)
So I am asking for help to cover these essential monthly expenditures that have been bleeding us dry.
