Hello Family and Friends,

These past few weeks have been extremely difficult for our family. One of the men that I consider to be a father figure and one of the most inspiring people in my life (my stepdad) has cancer. We could have never imagined how painful, emotional and overwhelming this diagnosis would be for all of us.

Carlos has Biphasic Synovial Sarcoma (He has a tumor which has transformed to cancer on his left leg). After all the studies and tests (biopsies) conducted by his orthopedic doctor and oncologists, they have determined that he needs to have intense chemo therapy for 6 months. During these chemo cycles, he will be hospitalized one full week (everyday going through chemo therapy). The second week he will be making daily hospital visits for blood draws and checkups. The third week will be a recovery week. He will be receiving eight cycles of chemo therapy for six months without any breaks in between.

Unfortunately, these treatments and the upcoming surgery to remove the tumor are incredibly expensive and financially overwhelming. This is the main reason I’m sharing our story with all of our extended family and friends.  

Under the current circumstances, Carlos has to work while going through the procedures in order to pay for the medical expenses (medical insurance, medicines, doctor appointments, blood drawings, hospital stay, surgery, etc.). We need help paying his medical bills, and are hoping you might be able to help. He will begin his first chemo therapy session on June 19, 2017.

I humbly ask you to please make a donation, if you can. I can’t thank you all enough for all the support that you all have given my family. I’m so sorry for not letting all of you know what has been going on sooner, but it all progressed quickly. We were trying to find out his condition before saying anything.
