Cancer Round #4 (Jerry Yanke)

My name is Anna Yanke and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my father, Jerry Yanke. My dad is a loving husband to Terri Yanke and an awesome Dad to me and my sister, Emily. He is one of the most outgoing individuals I have ever known and has positively affected many lives by helping others who also struggle with cancer. He likes to use humor to ease tension of the heavy topic. Our family has dealt with cancer several times. My mother had breast cancer about 11 years ago. My dad has had stage four kidney cancer, melanoma, stage four pancreatic cancer, and has now been recently diagnosed with stage four cancer on his liver and remainder of the pancreas. His previous battles were fought with the removal of a kidney, skin from his face, and a very invasive Whipple surgery. His current battle is being fought with oral chemo. He will be on oral chemo pills for the rest of his life. As you all are aware, chemo in any form has many negative side effects.

These last two rounds of cancer have taken a hit on our family financially. Due to his pancreatic surgery two years ago, my Dad now has to take pills in order to properly digest food. He also takes other medications along with very costly chemo pills. I am hoping to raise enough money to help lift some of the financial burdens that have come with cancer.  

My dad is a fun-loving, well-humored, and Godly individual. For everything that he has been through, his spirit and faith have remained as strong as ever. My dad loves to work on vehicles to pass time and keep his mind off his pain. Through his favorite past time we have spent a lot of time together and I have become very much a Daddy’s girl. Our whole family is very close and we have grown stronger with everything that has happened. If anyone can handle another round of cancer, it is my Dad. Our whole family is ready for this challenge and move forward with a “Peace that passes understanding.”
