Hey global family of lovers and creators, this may be the first time you are hearing this news, but our dear friend Sven Waldhoer needs our support. He was recently diagnosed with STAGE 3 RECTAL CANCER. This has been an extremely reality shifting and trying time for Sven and his family as they have launched into the journey of confronting this sort of malady and primarily have kept the news to themselves. But now we are coming together as a community of people who have been touched by this amazingly creative, loving, and inspiring family. This is an invitation to join with us as we support our friend Sven on his road to full recovery.
There are a handful of ways in which we can support. First take a moment and visualize Sven in full and radiant health. Then show your support and make a donation to help alleviate the snowballing costs of this sort of healing journey. See the outline of costs below to get an idea of what they are facing on a financial level. Once you make your donation please blast this campaign far and wide via social media and friend networks to make sure we not only meet our goal but far surpass it so that Sven and Tammi can fully focus on the journey of healing without the stresses of finances for as long as possible. They have provided me with a very modest estimate of the expenses that this journey will add to their financial outlook, but we can expect the hidden costs to continue to surface throughout the next year.

Sven has embraced the initial steps of this journey with positivity, grace, and sarcasm. If you know Sven then you know that one of his offerings to this world, besides his incredible gift of being an epic fashion designer, is to lighten hearts with sarcasm, jokes, and laughter. He is our "Cosmic Cheerleader", and even in the midst of his journey with cancer he is in good spirits and will be the first to make jokes about being too anal and how Rectal Cancer is a pain the ass...etc.
For those who want the play by play details of the journey so far here is the rundown:
Things were as per usual as the year began, Sven was preparing to head off to Bali like any other year to work on new designs for his and his wife’s clothing companies: Anahata Designs, and Infiniti Now, as he’s done for well over a decade. Leading up to departure he was having some minor issues going to the bathroom, nothing majorly worrisome, but just enough to be troublesome. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting a doctor or hospital in Bali, you know very well you’d probably prefer to take care of anything that needs checking in North America ;-)
So off Sven went to the doctor where he was told it was most likely just hemorrhoids, but just in case could schedule an appointment with a GI specialist to talk about having a colonoscopy just to be sure. He met with the GI specialist, who was of the same mind that it was likely just hemorrhoids, but scheduled a colonoscopy the next day, where they found a 4.5 cm tumor in his rectum and has since been diagnosed as Stage 3 Rectal Cancer.
The last month has flown by for Sven and his family with test after test happening almost every day.
Everyone's time has suddenly been consumed with tests, meetings, scheduling and escalating organizational obligations… Tammi has been there every step of the way, being Sven’s best advocate and asking all the right questions on his behalf.
So here we are, at the end of February, and he’s entered into treatment. Thankfully the PET scans and tests so far have shown that there have been no metastases anywhere else in his body so it will be able to be treated with aggressive chemo + radiation, followed by surgery to remove part of his rectum. All in all, this looks to be about an 8-10 month process… with a very hopeful outcome and epic party around this time next year to celebrate his radiant health.
But for now, Sven & Tammi are humbly asking you for help…
They mostly need financial help to be able to hire someone to take over some of the more stressful and currently challenging aspects of their business, but they could also use help in other ways as well...

Where will the money go?
- $17,000 - Funding to help find someone in Reno to take over some of Sven's duties so the business can still support their family and their team of artisans while he focuses on healing. This includes managing Instagram/facebook/customer communication/ shipping/ and literally, some heavy lifting ;)
-$3000- Integrative doctor: Luckily, Sven has found an amazing integrative classical western MD here in Reno who practices as a western doctor, does acupuncture, and is a TCM doctor as well. They are really blessed to have found him and to be able to include other modalities of healing, but he only operates on a concierge model, i.e. must be paid in advance…
-$2000 insurance deductible
-$2000- Pills, Powders, and Potions (probiotics, vitamins etc): $200/month x 10 months
-$300 folding treadmill so Sven can walk at home when he has his to-go chemo treatments.
