Fighting Cancer - Prema S. aka Volodymyr

Prema Sindhu dasa, aka Volodymyr Yefimov, is an Olympic fencing coach, and a Hare Krishna devotee. He is a disciple of Srila Indradyumna Swami and has served at Kalachandji Dham for over 15 years. He faced many 'battles' in his life: the army during his youth, and at the club training his students. However, this year, he is up against his strongest opponent: Stage 4 cancer.

The cancer moved from his bladder to lymph nodes, bones, and ultimately to his cerebral fluid and the brain. Fortunately, it responded to treatment but has now surfaced in his abdomen. :( This has taken a physical toll on his body, rendering him in bed for more than a few months, unable to stand or walk unassisted.

He has the best of care: a team of doctors led by oncologist Dr. Gupta (Radhanam prabhu) and Rasaraj Das. Members from the devotee community and his fencing community have provided round-the-clock care: cooking, visiting, exercising, and covering his financial needs. It has been a heart-breaking and emotional journey for all who love him.

Anyone who knows Prema Sindhu (Volodymyr) knows that he is a steadfast leader and coach. Yet, he remains one of the humblest, most sincere givers. He has given decades of service to the families at the Fencing Institute of Texas, training students for the Olympics. At the temple, he leads the live, audio and video broadcasts, shares daily images of the Deities, and runs Kalachandji's radio, Soundcloud, Youtube and more.

Any time he's asked for financial support, he's given more than requested. He's not the type to ever ask for help, which is why it has been ten months before we're requesting on his behalf.

He is my dear friend, and today I reach out to all of you - my greater family. He will require long-term care to get back on his feet, and his care team needs support as they've been covering it all till now. Please give anything you can.
