Cancer Picked The Wrong Guy- Help Amos Fight!

*Warning Amos wanted me to make this a little funny*
Hi, we’re Amos and Janica, and this is not how we thought our FIRST year of marriage would go.
Amos has been diagnosed with an undifferentiated sarcoma near his spine- which sounds like something out of a horror movie because it basically is. As if that wasn’t enough, he also has a meningioma (aka a brain tumor) just hanging out, waiting on its eviction notice.
Yes, Two tumors, possibly 5 (we’re watching 3 other spots). Because apparently one wasn’t dramatic enough.
We’re looking at multiple major surgeries, starting with the one near his spine. Recovery time is unknown . We’ll both be out of work- him because he’s literally being cut open, and me because I’ll be wiping tears, asking the nurses too many questions ,and emotionally unraveling in the hospital parking deck while fighting for both of us to get FMLA.
We didn’t plan for this, (who does??) We’ve got bills, travel expenses, and medical costs stacking up like Jenga blocks- and our insurance is doing what insurance does best: denying claims.
If you’ve ever wondered how expensive it is for someone to go through cancer, the answer is: a lot. And if you’ve ever thought, “Wow, they’re handling this so well,” Just know I cried into our couch last week because I couldn’t remember what day it was and there were 400 people calling us.
So- we’re asking for help. Financial, emotional, spiritual, caffeinated- whatever you’ve got.
If you can donate, we’ll be forever grateful. If you cant, sharing this page helps more than you know.
If you’ve been through something like this… please know we see you and understand what you’re going through and we’re sorry because this stuff SUCKS!!
Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping us flip the script on this terrifying chapter.

✨UPDATE✨
WE HAVE A SURGERY DATE!!
September 15th amos is having surgery to remove his sarcoma!! From the scans last week it hasn’t grown any deeper however it has grown significantly larger length and width wise so it now covers his entire thoracic spine. His scans also showed some small nodules in his lungs that we will be keeping an extra close eye on! The spots in his kidneys haven’t grown but there is a third one now and they are saying it’s renal cell carcinoma so a new cancer that doesn’t have anything to do with his sarcoma so we’re also keeping an extra close eye on those. The spots that were in his liver and spleen haven’t grown either and they are saying they are benign but we will keep an eye on them too! Amos will have to stay in the hospital for a few days if not longer. They will leave his wound open with a woundvac on it and we will come back for amos to have what the doctors are calling extensive reconstructive surgery of his back which could end up being a few separate surgeries because of how much skin and muscle they are going to have to take for them to make sure they have clean margins of the tumor. We have been feeling the prayers and love so much thank each and every one of yall that has reached out to us and been praying for us!
