Cancer patient PET scan donations & further treatment

Hi, my name is Taha and I am arranging this fundraiser for a friend of mine back home in Pakistan who was diagnosed with bilateral lobulated thyroid nodular lesions (Thyroid cancer) in September 2024. Since September he has been going through treatments starting from a 6 hour thyroidectomy in which thyroid and tumour both were removed through a surgical procedure to continuous medication and regular testings.

Currently doctors are suggesting a PET (positron emission tomography) as they have a suspicion that it might have affected other areas of his body. This continuous treatment has been very costly for this individual and unfortunately the expenses are now unbearable for him and his family. He had to get his PET done on 6th March but was unable to due to the financial reasons. This whole treatment since the start has been through Shaukat khanum hospital and this specific scan is also going to be performed by the Shaukat khanum. Cost of this test is going to be around 600 pounds according to today's currency conversion rate but as this is an ongoing treatment and doctors might need to perform certain procedures afterwards as well so we might be looking for more donations then the fundraiser goal mentioned here.
