Hello, my name is Teena Parlee a family friend of Kevin Williamson. I am helping Kevin with his GoFundMe account. Kevin has been confiding in me about his and Kaley's cancer journey. My heart went out. I myself recently lost my husband to terminal cancer and know exactly what they are going through. I know about all the extra cost and loss of finances and stress of wondering where the money will come from when you've exhausted all your funds. Your donations would go to help Kevin and Kaley for extra medical costs not covered, also gas (lives in Sarsfield)to and from hospital and appointments as well as parking costs. Kevin's EI is running out. He wants to be there to care for Kaley for whatever time she has left. The family has lived inthe communities of Blackburn Hamlet, Orleans and recently in Sarsfield. Kevin is a very hands on Dad and cares and loves deeply for all his children I spoke to Kevin and told him is was time to ask the community for help. Kevin has help the community when he started Home for Xmas (Helping Others Means Everything). Organized a free renovation over the Xmas holidays for a family going through hard times. Donated supplies and free labour by a group of tradesmen including his own time as a renovation specialist. Helped three families over three years. Time for us to give back to Kevin and Kaley during their time of need.
Here is Kevin's request for help.
Hi, my name is Kevin Williamson. and I am asking for help for my daughter Kaley Williamson who is going through terminal cancer. Kaley is 22 years old. Kaley was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, cervical cancer, 7.2cm tumor, on March 17, 2025. Underwent chemo which she struggled with - 4 admissions to the hospital (approx 50 days in hospital total) with high fevers and leg pain, delaying chemo, until hospital agreed to inpatient chemo.
Doctors included: radiation, oncology, gynaecology, infectious diseases, urology, palliative care.
Countless MRIs, CT scans, PETscans, blood work, X-rays, ultrasounds etc. 6 sessions of chemo, 25 sessions of radiation. 3 brachytherapy treatments. Treatment completed and told to "wait" as radiation continues to work for a few months. A couple admissions to hospital with leg pain. In December, 2025, 3 visits to the hospital with left lower back pain and leg pain, finally admitted. CT and MRI showed the tumor in her cervix was gone but her lymph nodes had grown and a new cancerous mass has grown on her left ovary. This is putting pressure on her left ureter, causing her kidney to swell. Surgery is not an option. More Chemo/immunotherapy to begin early Jan 2026 to prolong her life. The cancer is incurable and terminal.
As for me I take care of my daughter 24/7. I work as a Construction Site Superintendent, but had to be laid off March 17th, 2025 with her diagnosis so I could care for her and take her for treatments, hospital visits, etc. Went back to work Nov 2025 only to be laid off again on December 17th due to her new diagnosis. I have exhalted my RRSP's and savings. I am a single dad and Kaley's primary caregiver and I have to be with Kaley through this journey. She needs me and I need her.
A little bit about Kaley. Kaley is a beautiful 23 year old young women. She loved Competitive Cheerleading and was a Flyer with Ottawa Cheer Elite and Black Widow Cheer Gym during her early teen years. She's a fighter. Keeps on telling her Dad, siblings and family members, don't worry I got this. She wants her father with her for whatever time she has left.
Your monetary donation whatever it may be would help this wish for Kaley come true.
Thank you and we will be keeping you informed on Kaley's journey. We have learnt that everyday is not a given but a blessing. It took a loving family to raise her and now a community to help ease the pain.
