Roxy Kestner is an INCREDIBLE HUMAN currently battling lymphoma, which showed up out of the blue in October of 2021 (diagnosed ON her 50th birthday). She is undergoing 5 days of in-patient chemotherapy in a hospital every three weeks for a total of 5 months, and currently is kicking it's a$$; however, we all know the cost of so much medical care, insurance deductibles (which, in her case, are HIGH), in addition to all of the other challenges accompanying fighting cancer ESPECIALLY during a pandemic.
Even if you don't know her, Roxy is my very best friend and has changed my life for the better. Despite this incredibly hard blow, Rox is in good spirits. Her sense of humor, persistence, optimism, and downright STRENGTH have been astounding to watch.
For those of you who don't know Roxy, here is a little about her:
Roxy had a pet skunk growing up. She grew up in a horrible part of Florida with many bugs. Roxy worked on ranches out west and taught people the "Cotton Eyed Joe" dance. She worked at a literacy center. She bartended in New Orleans and did a stint as a real estate mortgage agent until she realized she didn't want to work for The Man and went to UGANDA to do PEACE CORPS where she taught literacy at a college there, also with many terrifying bugs and live-in chickens. She supports her friends, is politically active, CARES about people, and makes everyone laugh til they cry.
What I'm trying to say is that Roxy is a person who has changed lives, and the world. These kinds of people are the ones I want to support because they've given so much. Please join me in donating to offset the criminal cost of medical care to alleviate some of the burden!
Thank you everyone,
Sarah
