Cancer is Taking Mom, Don't Let it Take Our Home

Garrett Jr, Kyle and Taylor are losing their mom to a long battle with Ovarian cancer and are now at risk of losing their home. For the first time in 17 years, since Tanya and Garrett Sr had their first baby (little Garrett), they have been able to establish a home. Their humble little house in a quaint country setting is exactly what they dreamed of for their three children. They have stair stepped their way from a tiny rental in Galt to a modular home in Elverta, lived with our Granny in Roseville, a trailer on Tanya's mom's property and finally grew out of their impoverished youth and secured the perfect little homestead right outside of town in Valley Springs, Calaveras County, CA. I mention the county as it is the old stomping grounds of the great American writer Mark Twain who authored the following:
"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."
Kindness from loved ones, kindness from friends, kindness from acquaintances, and kindness from strangers is what I am asking for.
Tanya is my cousin, we were born one month apart making her a 38 year old mother of 3. She was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, which the doctors inadvertently broke during removal releasing cancer cells into her body that have metastasized throughout. After the first bout of chemo, having been given the "all clear" she returned to the doctor who diagnosed her with "the flu". A while after that she was diagnosed with the return of cancer and put back on the same chemo. No diagnostics were done to determine if that chemo would be effective again. Shortly thereafter she developed a blockage in her digestive tract and was put on artificial nutrition bags, to be administered by a tube, while waiting for the chemo to shrink her blockage for surgical removal. Months later when the chemo was deemed ineffective, and upon everyone's insistence, surgery was performed. The surgery revealed that the blockage was actually scar tissue, not a tumor, however Tanya had been on artificial feeding for so long that her digestive tract had atrophied so her ability to digest food is gone. Additionally, it was discovered that her cancer had morphed and that the chemo she suffered through was ineffective.
Tanya was sent home on Saturday afternoon to live out the remainder of her life in the care of hospice and her husband. The last surgeon gave her two weeks. We dont really know if she has two weeks or two months. What we do know is that her survivor benefits are not enough to replace her income and that for Garrett Sr to be home for the kids each night he will have to give up earning the higher bay area wages and work closer to home which equates to less than half his salary.
Please find whatever kindness you have, wherever your kindness comes from and share something invaluable with this family; the gift of the safety, security and comfort of the place Tanya made a home for them. We need $240,000 to pay it off but any amount is greatly appreciated as is your kindness.
Thank you,
