Hello! I’d like to tell you about Amber Arda’s current phase of her battle against cancer and how you can #BeMagicalGiveLife as we navigate sharp new curves in the road. My name is Brian Ganninger, her spouse and caregiver. I’ll be providing updates along the way along with some of our friends.

Amber is dealing with progressive (metastatic) stage 4 breast cancer combined with co-morbid diseases in her lungs, brain, lymphatic system, and spine that developed shortly before being laid off last year. The current recommendation is a 2 week treatment cycle in Seattle that radiates her brain and spine with a newer proton based radiation technique in between chemotherapy sessions.

As you might guess this is time sensitive, out of state, expensive out of pocket, and created a compounding set of obstacles to her future. The reality is we are surviving right now thanks primarily to the sacrifices of our aging families and the kindness of our local Turkish community.

Whether you donate money, boost the campaign, or even just send warm wishes it's incredibly helpful. Amber and I can’t express what your support means in this devastating, stress inducing moment. Together we’ll all get past this and enjoy more carefree times in the future.

Thank you for reading about Amber’s difficult journey. I wish there was more we could do to take away all she bears to stay with us and that healthcare didn’t make beggars of the most vulnerable and wonderful of people amongst us. Stay safe, be well, and love one another. Each moment is precious.

Why we are asking for help…

$10,000 upfront payment for new treatment before starting, scheduled for mid-March
Travel, lodging, and other expenses to stay in Seattle for 2 weeks for Amber and caregiver(s)

Fun fact: her name is Bilge (bill-gay) Arda, which means “wise” but Amber is easier for most ☺️
