Cancer Hospital in Bangladesh
Donation protected
Hi there! We are the Bangladesh Forum for Community Engagement, a voluntary organisation established by the Bangladeshi community in Australia.
We have been involved in various cancer related projects in Australia for almost 10 years, hosting breakfasts for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, raising upwards of $175,000 for the NSW Cancer Council.
Now we need your help!
Bangladesh is one of the world's most densely populated countries with 150 million people, 32% of whom live below the national poverty line of US$2 per day. Working with the Rotary Australia World Community Service, we are raising money to establish a 500 bed Cancer Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with 30% of the services made available to poor and socially disadvantaged patients free of cost.
**We are aiming for $10,000 by the 31st of December, 2016!**
The hospital will run on a "No Profit, No Loss" basis, helping to alleviate the suffering of financially challenged patients who currently have no access to specialised cancer treatment.
Your donation will be contributing to the the cost of building an operating theatre, a two bed shared room, and multiple cancer investigation & imaging facilities.
Cancer in Bangladesh claims more than 150,000 lives a year, with many recieving little to no treatment. There are currently nearly 1 million cancer patients in the country, with the number steadily growing. Your donation could help save many lives, and provide comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
