Cancer Gotta Tap Out !! Shamel's Journey

Donation protected
Hello everyone, This is Shamel and I am on my third year battling Cancer. I am requesting that you jump in and join my Fight!!.

I was diagnosed with stage 3, Breast Cancer in May of 2020. The diagnosis shook me and tested my faith in God. My husband Paul, if he was fearful he never let me see it. I underwent 6 months of chemotherapy, a mastectomy, 6 weeks of radiation, and 4 months of oral chemotherapy treatment. As you can imagine the disease and treatment were taxing and affected how often my husband and I could work. I once asked a nurse why no one expressed what it would take to battle this disease, to prepare the patients. She solemnly responded because no one would go through it.

In 2021 I underwent another 4 months of chemotherapy treatment. The lethargy, lack of appetite, nausea, and diarrhea, was even more severe than before. My husband was my rock. He didn’t complain, and did not hesitate to take on extra work around the house. He cooked for me, even when I could not stand the smell or taste of food. He took off from work, and drove me through Nashville traffic and made sure I was at my appointments. He opened our home to family members who wanted to help take care of me. The support he and my family has provided is truly immeasurable. I know the Lord Jesus Christ has good plans for me, and that realization helps keep me positive throughout this journey.

In May of 2022 I was informed that the Cancer was spreading. I was advised it was Triple Negative Cancer, which has been known to be hard to beat. The cancer blocked the lymphatic system and caused my right arm and hand to swell. The swelling has caused me a lot of pain and I have not been able to use my right hand. I am currently in treatment,
and participating in a trial at Vanderbilt Hospital. I have not been able to work at all for a couple of months now. We as a family stand firmly on the word and promises of God for my complete and total healing. While we are going through the healing process we are grateful for every Donation, every positive Thought and every Prayer.

On behalf of my husband, family, and myself, Thank you in advance.

May God Bless You and Your Families.
