Cancer Fundraiser for Jill Carl

Hi, my name is Jeanette. I am fundraising for my dear friend, Jill Carl. Jill was hospitalized three weeks ago and diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer that started in her appendix. She did have surgery, but her prognosis is poor as the cancer has spread through her body. She is not expected to live long. This is not Jill's first battle with cancer as she was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago. She fought through her chemo and radiation treatments and entered remission. This battle was followed by three spinal compression fractures causing her to have more surgery and hospitalizations. With all these hurdles, Jill has not been able to work in her career as a Registered Nurse at Essentia.

Jill has been a nurse for 31 years giving her time to many specialties including oncology and ER. She mentored many fellow nurses and others she crossed paths with during her career. She was loved by her patients for her positivity, advocacy, and kindness. Her friends and family adore her sass, humor, and wit- all of which are marked by her beautiful smile.

The pride of Jill's life are her loving children; Lauren and Jared. As the family navigates through these unprecedented times, the last thing I want them to worry about is the financial stress and burden of bills associated with Jill's illness. Jill has been unable to work after facing complications with her spinal surgery. For someone who has spent their life's work taking care of others, it is our time to return the TLC to our dear Jill.
