Cancer Fund for Candace's Mom

Donation protected
This is my mom (momma), Cricket. She was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. The doctors are being very aggressive with the treatment. For the next several weeks she will be undergoing a continuous stream of chemotherapy that will be administered via a port that they placed in her chest. Each day, my mom is also driving an hour each way to receive radiation treatment. My mom will be doing this every day for 6-8 weeks. After she has completed her chemoradiation therapy, she will be forced to detox for a couple of months and schedule surgery to hopefully remove the remaining tumor mass. Once she recovers from surgery, we will begin the process of a second round of chemotherapy to ensure that all of the cancerous cells have been removed. We are continuing to be positive and hopeful while we work through this physically and emotionally draining process.

As some of you know, my dad passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack when I was 20 years old. Since then, my mom has upheld a single income household since 2009. She has worked at the same local bank for over a decade and makes a humble living in her small corner of the world. My momma has been my rock my entire life and built a beautiful life for my little brother and me filled with unconditional love and support.

With that being said, I can never  repay my mom for the sacrifices that she made to keep me happy and healthy but I can reach out to my community, Green Sprout, for help. We are having a benefit in my hometown of 1,300 people on Saturday, November 16th.  I'll travel up to South Arkansas to be there for her and I am hoping to raise money for her to surprise her with.  We are not sure what is to come, however, we are trying are best to prepare for the time that she will be out of work for surgery, recovery and the travel time for treatment.

Anything that you can donate will help my momma's current situation.  The medical bills are already rolling in. Our first bill was only for the tests that it took to diagnose the cancer and it was $15,000. I'm also working diligently to help support her day to day expenses that have added up since she has had to take more time off from work due to treatment. Thank you so much for considering helping my family. The last few months have been especially challenging but I am so grateful to get to see my community's faces and get to play and grow with your sprouts everyday. They are helping keep me strong and hopeful.

So Much Love,

Candace
