Support for David Ramoz Family
My name is David Ramoz and I’m writing this request letter with the hope of receiving your support to continue my fight with cancer. I turned 49 years old in September and happily married to my wonderful partner and wife Jennifer for 25 years. We live in San Jose, California and blessed to be surrounded with close family and friends.
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in December of 2018. As you can imagine this came to me as a huge shock. I was 46 years old and had been into fitness and health since the age of 12. This is where the roller coaster of my life began.
As We prepared ourselves with many questions prior to my doctor appointments I was made aware that my treatment would be palliative care, which means to relieve suffering and improve quality of life for people with serious illness. Each doctor visit the doctor’s responses “I don’t know “or “just wait and see”. I have endured so many amounts of chemotherapy treatments, with none being successful. Because of Covid I face each treatment alone without my support next to me. Each treatment takes a toll on me and the end result is the chemo is just not working. After a weeklong hospitalization and stent placement it was highly recommended I do a course of Radiation. Since then I have seen an even bigger downward spiral on my health. At the beginning of this journey I was 230 lbs. and I’m now down to 160 lbs. Growing up my nickname given to me by my friends was “Big D”, that no longer applies.
I was strong and healthy now it’s a struggle just to get out of bed. Though this is toughest fight of my life I find strength is my Faith and having God as my Savior.
My condition is worsening day by day. Nevertheless, I have begun to seek alternative care to help my fight with cancer. These treatments are quite costly and are not covered by my medical insurance. Since big Pharma doesn’t support these treatments, neither does my Oncologist. There have been proven studies that there are various alternative treatments that can prolong my life. On a day to day basis I consume about 25 pills, a mixture of different supplements that are known to support my condition.
In December of 2019 I received my last disability check leaving our household with one income. Being denied my earned social security benefits I had to obtain legal counsel and am still fighting to get my benefits.
It breaks my heart to have to do this, but I am asking for your help, so that my journey doesn’t stop here. It is my humble appeal to ask you to kindly make a generous donation for your financial support to enable me to receive further treatment. I hope you can find it in your heart to support my fundraising efforts of the overall cost of $300k.
I also believe in the power of prayer and ask that you keep me and my wife in yours.
