My name is Irina Grama. I’m originally from Ploiești, Romania, and now living in the United States with my husband and our two young daughters.
I come from a loving, respected family, and I was raised to always step in when someone is in need.
This fundraiser is for someone very close to my heart — my childhood friend and former schoolmate, Elena Frunză.
Elena has always been one of the kindest, most polite, and soft-spoken people I’ve ever known.
In all the years we studied together, I never once heard of her upsetting or bothering anyone. She is warm, gentle, and carries a quiet strength that I’ve always admired.
In June 2025, tragedy struck her family: their newly built home in Buda, Prahova, burned to the ground in a devastating fire.
She, her husband, and their 3-and-a-half-year-old son were left with absolutely nothing.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that just last year, her husband was diagnosed with cancer and had to begin chemotherapy treatments.
Despite the illness, and with enormous sacrifices, they worked together to build that home — a place where they finally felt safe. And just when it was ready, they lost it all.
I couldn’t stay indifferent. I know Elena, I trust her, and I want to help her family find hope again.
I’m organizing this fundraiser to support them with temporary shelter, basic essentials, and eventually the means to rebuild their home and life.
All donations will be received in my U.S. bank account and transferred in full to Elena’s family in Romania. I will personally keep donors updated with progress and transfer confirmations.
Thank you for reading, for donating if you can, and for standing with a young family in one of the hardest times of their life.
Even $5 helps — it all adds up. Every small gesture brings them closer to safety and stability.
Every contribution, every share, every message matters more than you know.
With heartfelt thanks,
Irina Grama
