Cancer Fighting Fund for Kayla Yates

In August 2022, Kayla Yates received the shocking news that she had breast cancer. At only 28 years old, it was completely unexpected. Naturally, a number of tests followed and they revealed it’s an extremely aggressive cancer. In November, Kayla and her husband celebrated their second anniversary. As a young couple still starting out, the expenses that are piling up quickly are a heavy load to bear.

After working with her doctors and researching her options, it became obvious that her best chance of beating this particular cancer is a specific, intensive immunotherapy. Unfortunately, that requires traveling quite a distance and an out-of-state stay. Along with the travel expenses, her husband will need to take off work for a few weeks to support her as she receives treatments. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to show Kayla our love and support by helping to cover the travel expenses, lost income and any other expenses not covered by their health sharing community (they don’t have traditional insurance, which just adds to the stressful unknowns).

This diagnosis came right on the heels of a profoundly difficult year for Kayla and her family. Along with a number of other trials, they lost her uncle to cancer on New Year’s Day and that’s certainly on their minds as she faces this battle.

Everyone who knows Kayla will tell you she has a heart the size of Texas. She is loving, thoughtful and kind. Countless families have been the recipient of her incredible baked goods and can attest to her talent and skill. She is a faithful Christian woman who has served her church family diligently her whole life. She looks out for everyone else, and now it’s our turn to look out for her.
