I was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Multiple myeloma, and it has attacked my bone marrow. It has caused my bones to weaken and have now had nine fractures in my spine as well as created wholes in my ribs. Prior to the actual diagnosis the pain and mobility restrictions caused me to loose my job of 20 years. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment and when the cancer has subsided I will start taking injections to strengthen my bones. My wife and I are very optimistic about my treatment and very much look forward to recovery. This was very unexpected and we have tried to keep up with the regular bills. We have two kids and live a modest life, but the medical bills, travel arrangements and prescriptions have added up. We are trying to stay afloat until I kick this cancer and get back to normal so I can work again. It’s already been a hard ride and we have more to come. The stress of bills and travel expenses has added to the pressure. Day to day has been difficult, I try to focus on being positive and doing everything I need to to be healthy again.
