In Oct.2023 Abdul was rushed to the ER, hospitalized & days later diagnosed w/stage-4 prostate cancer. For more than a decade, he has been a manager at well-known regional chain department & groceries store taking care of his family never sharing personal details of struggle with, & especially never asking for, public financial help.

The company he works for(Meijer), however, insists that he must return to work for 2 weeks in order for his 2024 short-term disability to take effect. The company is fully aware of Abdul’s track history of only missing work when his body is at the brink of breakdown.

Things were going well last year as he transferred to another branch store, moved his family to a new city & became a first-time home owner. But now chemotherapy has been postponed multiple times as he weakens further w/mortgage & other bills past due & phones to be disconnected tomorrow.

Due to his inability to return to work, we have also hired lawyers to dispute the company he works for. For the sake of survival, we are posting this GoFundMe as our final option to prevent financial concerns from disrupting his ability to beat this cancer. Any contributions will be appreciated.
