Cancer Cure of Paula

Donation protected
My wife of 20 years is an active member of our community in many ways, and has contributed greatly to children and our local institutions. At the end of August of 2019, Paula was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I love my wife dearly, and have a great respect for who she is and what she does for others. Our friends have noticed that, although Paula has a sweet voice and womanly character, she also has a strong will. I am hoping that her strengths will help carry her through her upcoming cancer treatments.

What first appeared to be small growth, maybe about ½ inch, turned out to be more like 2 ½ inches, or about the size of a chicken egg. Over time, the treatment plan went from simple surgery to radical cancer surgery, then radical surgery followed by chemotherapy, radiation, and reconstruction of the breast. The entire breast and several lymph nodes were removed. The remainder of the treatment is estimated to take about 10 more months.

Right now, Paula is enduring the side effects of chemo while continuing to work full time.

My wife has devoted 23 years of her life to working with youngsters and she loves what she does. She strives to give every child she encounters a better start in life and a brighter future. Paula organizes a large fundraiser each year for our local library.

Our insurance will only cover part of our medical costs. After only a few of months of treatment, we have $2,000 in outstanding bills. We have used up our savings to pay bills so far.  We estimate needing $1,300 more in the fall after more surgery.

We need $2,000 now to catch up on the past due bills. If we are able to raise the rest of the funds by the end of October 2020, this would allow us to continue our life together cancer-free and without a crushing debt looming over us.

Paula's doctors have been wonderful and are literally saving her life. We would like to be able to know that we can respond to their skilled and caring efforts with timely payments.

Dana-Farber and the associated Boston hospitals are known to be among the best cancer treatment and research hospitals in the world. I am sure that any donations you are able to make toward our hospital payments will be an invaluable contribution toward the work they are well-respected for. Paula has applied to be part of a cancer study. If accepted, her role in the treatment process will help to make life easier for other women diagnosed with cancer in the future.

We would like to thank you so much considering us for any contributions you are able to make. We appreciate anything you can give, and would respond with gratitude to any help that we receive from you. We would appreciate any efforts on your part to share our story with others.
