David Jablonski's Cancer Sucks

By all accounts 2019 was off to a Wonderful start for my dear friend David Jablonski , his wife Angela and their daughter Becca.
While shaving one morning he felt 2 small lumps on his neck. He knew that wasn't normal and so they went to check out what it might be.
After many tests, the biopsy came back Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the left Tonisillar Pillar!
In lamens term Tonsil Cancer!
Of all the Cancers you hear of, Cancer of the tonsil was a first!
Immediately treatment began including surgery to remove the left tonsil. They also found Cancer in some of the lymph nodes and had to remove 28 of them!
The next treatment is Radiation therapy of the throat area so they can kill any remaining Cancer and to prevent it from returning.
HERE'S THE KICKER!
To get the radiation treatment, David Has to have Major Oral Surgery!
All of his teeth have to come out!!
HERE'S THE KICKER ➕
It costs $27,000 dollars!
That covers the surgeon, anesthesiologist,implants everything!
But still it costs $27,000!
David absolutely has to have this done. This is the only way he can have the Radiation treatment that will ultimately Save his life!!
And time is a factor.
THE FINAL KICKER!
Insurance won't cover it!
Angela has worked tirelessly with them submitting and resubmitting ,
without any luck.
But again, TIME is a factor. All of this needs to be done as soon as possible!
David's family is everything to him and he wants to be around for a long time to come. He is the sole provider for the family and with the expenses of trips to and from Houston , fuel, prescriptions etc... as well as just living costs. It's Overwhelming!
After the oral surgery, David will have Radiation for 6 weeks, 5 days a week Monday - Friday.
He will be seeing therapists for speech and learning how to eat and swallow after Radiation.
There are many hurdles this family has had to jump so far and there are many to come.
The financial burden alone is hard, but the emotional toll to me is the hardest.
Having a similar experience watching your loved one go through a Life altering , possibly Life ending crisis is soul crushing.
But with faith in God, the support of family and friends it is a little easier to bear.

We all know someone who is battling this disease. Cancer does not discriminate! From mothers, fathers,brothers ,sisters ,friends and co-workers.
