I'm Joel's eldest daughter, Erica, and I'm posting this GoFundMe on his behalf. Joel has three other adult children, Derek, Makayla, and Jacob. He is also surrounded by 7 beautiful grandchildren, with another on the way. Purchase dad, or Pops as we call him, has been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. He is a plumber by trade with over 20 years of experience and is no stranger to working 40+ hours a week. Since his diagnosis, he has been unable to work and is therefore experiencing financial hardship. Unfortunately, many of us know that just because we stop working doesn't mean that bills stop coming. Joel is in the middle of his treatment and is having to pay out of pocket for copays for both medical and dental treatments necessary for his recovery. He has had a major surgery to remove several cancerous masses from his throat area and is in need of radiation as well. He is currently awaiting dental treatments that are necessary before he can start his radiation. Joel is a very hardworking, honest, and courageous man who deserves to be back in good health both physically and financially. Though he has much love and support from his village, times are very hard, and we are falling short on being able to financially help him as much as is needed. I speak for all of his family and friends when I say any donation is greatly appreciated and will not go to waste or misuse.
