Cancer Battle for a single mom and nurse
Donation protected
This woman is, Elizabeth Hubbard, and is the love of my life and my best friend. She is a veteran nurse of 20+ years and now she needs care for herself. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2017. She did treatment at that time and we all thought that she was in the clear. In December of 2019 she was experiencing debilitating back pain and thought she had just injured her back. She used PTO for a few weeks attempting to rest her back and recover but over New Years she had back pain so strong she went to the ER. After running tests she was given the unfortunate news that the pain was a symptom of the cancer metastasizing. It has spread from her origin site (left breast) to her sternum, chest wall, right breast, neck, skull, spine, hip, pelvis and liver.
This was DEVASTATING news for her and the rest of us who love her. She is independent and proud and would never ask for help... so I am asking for her. Her doctor has said he is not certain if she will be able to work during her chemo treatments as she will be taking a very aggressive chemo treatment dubbed The Red Devil. She is terrified she will loose her house while battling cancer and the stress of this alone is having a negative affect on her spirit and attitude. She feels hopeless and lost at this moment. This is her place of refuge and her sons' childhood home. Please help me keep her in her home as she goes thru this chemo treatment. I have plans to pay her next mortgage payment and but I am not able to do this continually as I just don't have enough money or resources on my own. Liz is scheduled to start her chemo treatments the week of January 13th, 2020 and she is already in tough shape financially due to tests and the 3 day hospital stay.
Liz is an incredibly kind woman and a caring and compassionate nurse. She has always been a patient advocate and provided the best care possible. She is a loving mother, exceptional parent and a one of a kind partner. I have only heard of gofundme but never used it before. Unfortunately I am here now under desperate circumstances. If you can, please help Liz and her boys, Jack and James, in this situation. I promise we will pay it forward once she is recovered and back on her feet. This is scary but is still treatable and she has hope for recovery. Thank you in advance for ANY help you can provide.
