Cancer Baby Wants To Be A Tripod For Christmas

Earlier this month my 10 year old cat, Nami developed a mass on her left shoulder. We were able to immediately remove it and send it out for testing but unfortunately it came back as a very aggressive type of sarcoma. We had a consultation with a radiation oncologist and a surgeon to discuss our options. At this time, it seems the best option we have to give her the best prognosis with the fewest side effects is full amputation of her front left leg. This is a major surgery and will be an adjustment for her. It also does not come cheap. Between the mass removal, histopath, thoracic X-rays, bloodwork, and consultations, it’s already been close to $2,000 out of pocket. Amputation can be up to $5,500 depending on where I have the surgery performed. Continual care will involve routine X-rays to check for any spread of cancer into the chest with the added possibility of still having to pursue low dose radiation therapy. After amputation, I would like to have a prosthetic limb made for her to help her adjust to losing the leg and to help her bear weight more evenly. The prosthetic itself is $1,500. Last year we had similarly high expenses with my cat, Ikki who unfortunately did not have the outcome we had hoped for. We were fortunate enough to have had wedding gift funds at that time to cover his hospitalization, biopsies, blood transfusions, and end of life care. We do not foresee having a second wedding this year to have the advantage of those funds. So I’d like to ask anyone that can to make a donation to please help if you are able. I don’t want any Christmas presents this year. I just want my baby to be comfortable and give her the best chance I can at living a longer life. If you do not feel comfortable using a platform such as GoFundMe, I would accept any donations directly through my Venmo @speckledcoffee Thank you.
