I have a group of college friends I still talk to ALL THE TIME. We studied fashion design in Nebraska. It bonded us for life- being such a unique experience (haha). We've seen so much happen in the 20+ years since school. Big moves, career highs and lows, kids and more kids.
They are my family.
And our family needs help.
Our dear friend Sue’s husband, Ashley was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer on May 19th, 2021. As a family, they faced his diagnosis head-on with hope and grit. Ashley bravely fought his illness throughout the past year and continued to show up for his family every day. Rarely missing work, getting up early to decorate for his daughter’s birthday and supporting his family. Can you imagine not letting one obligation slip during a time like this?
Unfortunately, this cancer has spread to 10 areas they know of- including lymph nodes and bones. And now, a 6 cm mass on his kidney has grown to 9 cm- within the last month. Emergency room visits have become regular, as the pain is too much to bear. Missed work days are piling up.
In a cruel twist of fate, their original oncologist and the only Prostate Cancer Specialist in their area has been forced to retire and fight his own battle with cancer. Sue has looked into countless organizations and research hospitals for help and has come up empty.
In addition to any financial support you can offer, please consider connections or ties to any prostate cancer research specialists or hospitals you might be connected to.
Anything will help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
