Cancer and end of life Treatment

Hi, my name is Erin, and this is a picture of my kiddos with our AuPair , Alejandra. She is 27 and has become like a part of our family. She has been with us for the last year and we were so excited when she extended with us for a second year. She is a complete joy. Kind, loving, smart, funny, and destined for a bright future. We love her dearly. Last week Alejandra began having severe stomach pain. She went to the ER and after many scans and tests was left with the unbelievable diagnosis of Stage 4 Gastric Cancer. We are crushed. It seems impossible. She was fine a few weeks ago. It is incurable. Her doctors say she has about 2-3 months to live. Maybe 6-12 with chemotherapy.

It was a very hard and painful decision, but Alejandra has chosen to go home to be with her family in Mexico for her last few months. She is from a small town and from very modest means. She will likely not be able to get the healthcare she needs unless she has money to pay for it out of pocket.

In one day her world changed from having the world at her feet, to trying to comprehend this impossible diagnosis. She has been so brave. If you have the means and could help us to raise money so that she can get the medication she will need, and be able to live her last few months on her terms, any amount will help.
