If you know Melissa, you know two things: she’s always smiling, and she can turn even the worst situation into something you’re somehow laughing about five minutes later. Recently, Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer. In true Melissa fashion, she tried to keep working through chemo, because she’s tough, determined, and maybe just a little stubborn. But chemo had other plans. Her body basically said, “Ma’am. Please sit down.” So for now, she’s had to step away from work and focus on beating this thing.

The real stress isn’t just the treatments or the appointments; it’s the lost income. Unfortunately, the electric company doesn’t accept good vibes or cancer jokes as payment (we checked). So we’re rallying around Melissa the way she’s always rallied around us. We want her focused on healing, resting, and continuing to laugh in cancer’s face.
