Cancer and Amputation Survival

Hello my name is Eric Swanson.

On June 13th 2021 I fell and broke my leg. Simple break back at life in 4-6 weeks. Almost 2 years and 14 surgeries later I lost the battle to keep my leg. The 15th Surgery (April 10th 2023) the Surgeon amputated my right leg. Much of these two years I have not been able to drive which has made employement difficult.

In July of 2022, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Nine inches of my colon was removed and I undewent 6 months of Chemotherapy. The effects of Chemo on my already dilapted body were very detrimental to my well being. I survived Chemo and the Cancer seems to be in remission.

Praises to God.

Currently I am working from home part time. I am completeing 2-3 hours of Physical therapy a day at home and completeing in clinic therapy 4 times per week. I am about 2 months out from recieving my prosthetic leg and another 2-3 months of therapy after that to learn to walk again.

Anyway this is a long story but it has been absolutley detrimental to my families finances. I have one son in college and my youngest is about to graduate High School next weak. We have sold pretty much everything we can, boat, extra vehicle and a fair amount of Sports Memorabilia I have been able to gather over the years.

If you can see it in your heart to help myself and my family out of this desperate situation I can guarantee everyone that when life gets back to a more normal state, I will donate all the monies we recieve to cancer research and amputee programs that help those without insurance obtain a viable prosthetic limb.
