Support for My Mothers Second Battle With Cancer
My mother was recently diagnosed with Triple- Positive Breast Cancer. Unfortunately, this is not my mother’s, Trish, first battle with cancer as she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the early 2000’s. This is a particular form of breast cancer that is considered to be more aggressive and equally harder to treat with — fewer options for treatment. She is also currently undergoing chemotherapy. She has an extensive treatment plan with upwards of 16 chemotherapy sessions, a surgery, and radiation treatments as well. Thus far her insurance is able to pay for the majority of her treatments however there is an average 3650.00 left over as patient responsibility per each session. My mother is still working and going into the office full time. However, the side effects from the treatment cause difficulty performing duties of her job. With the global pandemic COVID-19, causing financial hardships and unstable employment, it has been increasingly stressful for my mother. Denver, CO is currently going into level red — severe risk for COVID restriction due to a spike in cases, and as she is immunocompromised. We are worried about her taking chances sharing public spaces during these troubling times. With your help, my mother could take the time off to focus on her health as her primary concern. We are appreciative of every donation! Anything helps! Thank you for your support!
