Cancer - 1, John Thompson - 0, Help Even the Odds!

Hello everyone, my name is James, and I am creating a fundraiser to support one of the most amazing people I've been fortunate enough to know in my life. John Thompson has recently embarked on a new life journey that most people will never get to experience; but for those who have, understand that it is one of the biggest undertakings and challenging events that they can ever have the misfortune of encountering. Fortunately for John, he is a big hunk of beef that is prepared to tackle this obstacle head-on. Not only does he plan to walk away from it possibly as skinny as me and most definitely better looking; but he also intends on continuing to help raise his young grandchildren just as soon as he is able. Why do I mention his intent to help others at a time like this? That's because you can't talk about John Thompson without mentioning the selfless service he consistently brings to the table. This man is as generous as you can be, and it is only right that we as a society recognize and reciprocate such actions in order to ensure the world remains as we all hope it can be. Positive, bright, and full of people who are open and able to help one another. As you cannot simply judge a society by merely looking at the best of us, but so too must you view those who are willing to help mend others in their time of need. As nobody in life can get to where they are at by themselves. Everyone requires the assistance of others at some point in their life, and it is at this point in John's life that he requires our help. So, I ask to all of you who John has helped throughout the years and even those who simply feel touched by his story to please take a moment to offer him some aid in his time of need so that he can better overcome this tough point in his life and come out of it knowing about all of the wonderful people who are rooting for his safe passage along the way; and, know that by helping John, you are helping yourselves because the world without him would have one less person willing to go out of their way to help you in your time of need when the time arrives. Who knows, maybe he would've been the person that happened to pass by when you needed someone, and without your taking action now, that possibility dwindles.
