Help Bring My Daughters Home to Canada

My daughters and I are Canadian citizens — but we are being held in Egypt under a travel ban we cannot escape.

In 2022, I brought my daughters, Ava and Noor, to Egypt so they could visit their father’s family.

What was meant to be a temporary visit turned into a situation we cannot escape.

Their father placed a travel ban on my young daughters, preventing us from leaving Egypt.

We are Canadian citizens by birth — yet we remain trapped abroad.

Their father lives full-time in Canada and has refused to cooperate with Egyptian court proceedings, causing repeated delays in lifting the travel ban.

At the same time, he is refusing to pay court-ordered child support.

This has left us with no stable income, no financial support, and no ability to move forward — while the legal process continues to drag on.

Because of my visa status in Egypt, I am not legally permitted to work.

Everything we need to survive — from food, to transportation, to staying connected through a basic data plan — depends on limited outside help while I continue fighting through the courts.

My daughters are paying the price.

Ava is on the autism spectrum and has a serious thyroid condition. She cannot tolerate the extreme heat here.

Noor is also highly sensitive to the heat and frequently becomes unwell.

They are isolated, out of school, and living in constant instability — all while waiting for a resolution they cannot control.

I have exhausted every available option with the Canadian Embassy and continue to pursue legal action through the Egyptian courts.

I have been told there is no immediate solution — only prolonged and costly legal proceedings.

This is about survival — and about getting my daughters home.

• Daily living costs, including food and essential needs

• Transportation required to manage appointments and legal matters

• Communication and data access needed to coordinate legal efforts and support

• Basic stability and relief for my daughters during this ongoing crisis
