Canada Intensive leader discipleship program

Hi I’m Luke, I’m 21 years old. I am planning on going to Canada for an intensive discipleship course with Soul Edge.

The course I am going on is designed to help me grow spiritually and challenge my faith, It integrates faith, teaching, community living and adventure to help me develop as a young leader and that’s exactly why I’m going. 

I was told about this course when I was about 16 years old by a good friend of mine, he strongly believed doing something like this would give anyone a strong foundation to build their faith on. Over the years I kept putting it off to pursue other pathways, but doors seemed to keep being shut on me, I believe this was to steer me into the direction of doing something like this to help develop and build my faith.

Earlier on in the year the thought of this course came into my head once again and so I applied which was followed by an interview, and then, thankfully, I was accepted onto the course.

The course itself is an intensive discipleship course focused on raising up young people to become disciples. In the week the schedule will be fairly full-on with 2 bible study sessions a day, and some fitness, team building activities and serving local projects. On Saturdays we'll go on adventures exploring the mountains and natural beauty around us. Sundays we’ll be serving within the church. While there we will also undergo a mission trip putting our newly strengthened faith to the test, and aiming to bless the community we go to visit.

This trip is important to me because it allows me to step outside my comfort zone and disconnect from the distractions around me, it enables me to build that strong foundation my friend told me to build 5 years ago (plus discipleship mixed with adventure is right up my street!). I believe after this trip I will come back changed forever by the experiences, learning and memories from my time there. The funds donated will contribute towards the course itself, travel to and from Canada, and any equipment I’ll need to invest in beforehand.
