Hi. My name is Chris and
I am writing to request your support in helping my grandson, Callum Wilson, as he embarks on an incredible journey to attend the Canadian Ice Hockey Academy in Ottawa playing for the under 16 prep AAA hockey
team September 2025. This opportunity represents the
culmination of years of hard
work, dedication, and passion for
the sport of ice hockey, which
has been Callum’s dream since
he first stepped onto the ice at
the age of two.
Callum’s love for ice hockey started early. By four years old, he was playing his first games for his local team, Gillingham. Since then, his progress has been remarkable. Now 14, Callum plays for Gillingham’s Under-16 team and frequently steps up to play with the Under-18 and Under-19 squads. Along the way, he has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments:
• Representing England at the international level.
• Competing in the prestigious Peewee Tournament in Quebec, where he earned Player of the Tournament.
• Playing for Showcase Southeast and traveling to Riga, Latvia, with the UK Select team.
• Winning numerous trophies in league hockey, including Parents’ Player and Defenceman of the Year.
Callum’s dedication to the sport is unwavering. He is a natural team leader, always the loudest supporter of his teammates, and a player who inspires through his encouragement and strong determination. His solid skating skills, quick hands, and ability to read the game reflect the countless hours he has devoted to practice and competition. Callum’s grit and resilience have taken him across the UK for league games and as far as Sheffield to train with the England national ice hockey team.
Off the ice, Callum works weekends at a local hockey shop, demonstrating responsibility and commitment. Often, he finishes his shift just in time to lace up his skates and hit the ice for a game. This work ethic, combined with his respect for coaches and teammates, sets him apart as a dedicated athlete with a bright future.
Attending the Canadian Ice Hockey Academy is Callum’s dream, as it offers world-class coaching and training while fostering academic and personal growth. This opportunity will allow him to further develop his skills and move closer to his goal of playing at the highest level in Canada, the birthplace of ice hockey.
However, the costs associated with this program—including tuition, travel, accommodation —are significant. We are seeking sponsorship to help make this dream a reality for Callum.
The yearly fee’s are £28,500, Callum could potentially have this place for 3years.
Your support would not only assist Callum in pursuing his dream but also inspire a young athlete who has already achieved so much through hard work and passion. We, as his family, could not be prouder of how far he has come, and we are committed to helping him achieve his goals.
With your support, Callum can take the next step in his ice hockey journey and continue to make his dream come true.
Warm regards,
Chris Wilson.
