Help Save a Part of History

The Canabar has a long, rich history in the city of Columbus, Ohio.  Located on the east side,  the Canabar opened in 1962 by the Barnett family.  Orginally ran and managed by George Barnett, Sr., subsequently in 1971 by Geraldine Barnett and since 1996 by Gail Barnett.
If you have lived in Columbus or visited Columbus, chances are you may have visited the Canabar and have a story or memory of your visit.

Although the Canabar has kept it doors opened for over 55 years with consistent low drink prices and free entertainment, it has now fallen on hard times and could use your help.  Help to keep the Canabar open in the neighborhood as the last standing black family owned establishments .

If you, someone you know or maybe a past family member has supported the Canabar in the past or presently and/or you have a good memory of a good time at the Canabar, please make a donation.  No donation is too small and all donations will be greatly appreciated. Help to keep a piece of Coumbus' history alive!  The money raised will be used to keep the doors of the Canabar open.

God Bless you,

Thanking You in Advance!
