This is my nephew Canaan. Canaan was born at 40 weeks with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 4 times, a knot, and no heartbeat. They did CPR for 30 minutes before being able to bring Canaan back. He is fighting HARD, and they're not sure what kind of damage going 30 minutes without oxygen might have had on his little body. He's currently in the NICU, and struggling with seizures. Please be praying for complete healing for Canaan, and peace for Noah, and Emily as they deal with all of this, and this sudden change in their life. Canaan is already so loved, and cherished.

We don't know the extent of damage, and how long he will be in the NICU. We're currently trying to get them set up at the hotel that is connected to Gundersen. Since Emily had a c-section she can't drive, and Noah is going to have to go back to work soon. Plus. Keeping Emily as close to Canaan as possible is obviously best for them both. On top of meals, gas, and whatever else they might need. Noah has a very limited amount of paternity leave, that doesn't account for a NICU stay. If he needs any more time off of work it would have to be unpaid. So this might help take some of that burden off as well, and let him concentrate on Emily, and baby Canaan.
