CAN YOU PLEASE HELP TO PAY THE WAY FOR THE ANIMALS

Furever Farm has largely been a self sufficient farm animal sanctuary for nearly 10 years. But, especially in the current climate, there are times that even we need to ask you, our family, for a helping hand to care for the animals.

You may recall us telling you of our success in securing hay hopefully into October? The lifeblood of the animals is not only necessary right now, but prime in price and availability. Our initial success would be thwarted by transport issues interstate, but not ones to sit and dwell, we were able to secure hay from a different supplier. As we mentioned at the time, this hay was greater in volume, thus more expensive. We continued with the hope that finances would hold until at least late October, when new season hay would begin to drip through. Sadly, as much as we have tried frugality, our funds have once again dripped dry.

One of the issues that has gobbled finances of late has been extremely necessary infrastructure for the animals. We have needed to replace our rear paddock fencing, spanning the entire length of the property after the old fencing simply became dangerous and non-existent. Flattened in parts, leaving sharp protruding rural wire that the animals could well injure themselves on or tangle as they attempted to climb, coupled with exposed posts and star pickets, it could wait no longer.

Also, the original stables, more often used as sick bays, flooded on the very first decent rain to hit the sanctuary. You can see baby Alice in the cover photo as we discovered her in the morning after a downfall. This situation has happened in the past, and we have held off simply for a lack of funds. But, realistically, this simply could not go on. Both stables required a raised concrete floor applied before we could adorn with rubber matting and bedding of sawdust and blankets for the babies to reuse.

The infrastructure jobs would steal nearly $20'000 alone from the funds of Furever Farm, let alone the ongoing and incoming costs of hay, which we simply cannot ignore nor delay.

Although we hate asking, we know that times are tough the world over, we do so in knowing that everyone, the sanctuary family, would want us to come forward rather than stay silent and eventually collapse.

Can you help us continue to help the animals? Help us with recent costs, but more importantly, the ever so important charges of more hay. Our bank balance is low. We really need to have funds sitting for incoming bills and hay expenses.

Thank you all so very much, and remember.....you will always be our online family.
