Hey friends, I have a personal request. I humbly beg of your cumulative generosity, that a little guy who will need help for years and years to come, can, along with his family, get a just a little help. Goodness, we all know how awful the money side of American health systems are.
So there was an unfortunate accident in which my darling nephew, 5 year old Rowan, has lost his right hand. (He was right handed.) I am happy to share what I know with you privately, but even then, my sister and family are fresh into this journey and as such are quite tender.
I have great trust in the working of things, that he will be well and live a perfectly good life, but in this near future the outlook is grim. To speak of medical bills, doctor visiting, more surgeries, a lifetime of physical and mental therapy for Row and his parents and siblings, it’s all a little too big to imagine right now. And add to that a lifetime of bumping into everyday situations where he can’t get involved as easily as his peers—or as easily as his loved ones dreamt for him. I also trust you can imagine what that must feel like like.
If I may beg of your cumulative strength, small pieces of generosity from my many beloved friends, I would like your help to send a supportive gift that I would never be able to send alone.
Row’s parents are of humble means but good loving folk, a mom (my little sister) and a husband who teaches Special Education. Row is the middle of their three kids.
If you are willing and able to share a couple bucks, I think it will make worlds of difference in their lives. Even more than the arbitrary goal amount I wrote on here, the good will of a network of friends warmly offering to help prop up some wary spirits is worth more than words can express.
with my forehead pressed firmly, humbly to the earth,
