Can you help Ukrainian Families?
This last week, I have been horrified by the events that have unfolded in Ukraine. I have decided to organise an aid package that I will deliver to one of the receiving centers on the Poland/Ukraine border.
The Fire Station and their fantastic team at Karpacka 123, Bielsko-Biała, Poland have set up a collection point and a distribution network to get all received donations to those in need as they cross the border. I have been in communication with them over the last 72 hours and have a list of products/items that they desperately need.
I will have a Luton Van at the car park at Newhailes Business Park, Musselburgh (next to Home Bargains) on Sunday 13th March to collect donations of essential products between 11am - 5pm.
We also need to collect money to pay for additional products to ensure that we take a full load for those in need. We need to purchase fuel to cover the 3000 mile round trip and if there is any excess left over, this will be given directly to the Fire Station Team who are registered in Poland as a Humanitarian Organisation.
The que to get across the border is over 40KM long and it is taking women, children and the elderly approximately 2 days to cross. There are no toilet facilities and there is a shortage of food and water. The Fire Station team are shipping emergency supplies to the border to distribute as they arrive into Poland.
I will be leaving Musselburgh on Monday 14th March and will arrive at the Collection Point on the Poland/Ukraine border on Wednesday 16th March. We hope to be home around Friday 18th March.
Please, if you can help in any way, there are many people in need that will truly appreciate whatever you can give.
