Can you help the Armagh5K?

Unfortunately, a headline sponsor has decided not to continue with sponsorship of the 2024 5K International Road Race in Armagh on Thursday 8th February. This leaves a forecast deficit of thousands of pounds for the organising Club, Armagh Athletic Club. As a registered Charity, Armagh Athletic Club is kindly requesting donations to ensure the continuation of the Armagh International Road Race in 2025 and beyond. Your kind and generous donations will help secure the future of the Armagh International Road Race. The 2024 edition of the Armagh International Road Race celebrates the 32nd running of this iconic event. A race that brings thousands of spectators into Armagh City in early February, hundreds of International Athletes descending to the City, 1000+ local School Children, including Special Needs Races. All generating significant revenue into the local economy.

Ranked as the best and most popular road races in the world, the event has come about through the incredible in-depth, consistent standard of the 5k over many years. This has been highlighted by the fact that no other race brings together so many athletes running under 15 minutes – in the 2023 race there were 132 runners who recorded sub-15 times! The Female 3K race attracts world class Athletes to the Event. Many of whom have went onto win European and Commonwealth Titles and numerous Olympians have competed in Armagh. Unfortunately, organising a World Class Event in Armagh comes with great cost. We are indebted to ABC Council and the local Armagh Business Community. However, without a Headline Sponsor we will be unable to provide the same event in future years. The funds would be used to pay operational costs associated with the running of the event. i.e. Race Timing, Programme Printing, Trophies/Prizes, Travel, Accommodation, Meals, Lights, Public Address and all other costs associated with successfully delivering a world class event in our local Town.
