Can you help Renee with my health battle?

As many of you know, my dear friend Connie held a GoFundMe last summer after the diagnosis of breast cancer. I remain grateful for every penny, every prayer, every gift of love. You helped me make it through.

During the cancer surgery, my liver failed and then my kidneys. Because it was an injury, it was believed my kidneys would heal or heal enough to remain functional. But that hasn’t happened. No dialysis yet, but I’m terrified it’s around the corner.

Transplants are being discussed, but I’ve not gotten past the safe mark after having cancer. I’ll be on preventive cancer meds since I’m never going to be a candidate for chemo, and my body couldn’t handle any more cancer surgery if it recurs. Thus, my hair is falling out—the reason I went from mermaid locks to a pixie cut.

I have issues with internal bleeding due to my liver. I’ve had over 20 blood transfusions since June. I have spent approximately 90 days in the hospital since surgery.

Just before Christmas, I was unconscious for 24 hours due to blood loss. I left on New Year’s Eve and am trying to recover at my cousin’s house.

Bills are piling up. Quickly. I’m trying to start working again, but my brain is so mushy trying to recover, and my body is weak. It’s almost impossible. I’m so afraid of losing my car, plus almost everything I own is in storage. Not to mention medical bills that are piling up more every week.

I cannot stand not being independent or asking for help, especially monetarily. I know we are all struggling. If you have a few bucks, it would be more than appreciated. Every dollar takes off stress, and I need that energy to focus on healing.

If your budget can’t allow for that, believe me when I say your prayers, thoughts, messages, and love—not to mention pics of your pets (I miss my kitties so much)—would give me such a boost of hope to keep going.

I pray to be well enough to go home and be with my granddaughter soon and have something that may be a new normal but feels like my life again.

Many blessings and much love to all of you. Happy New Year’s.
