Hello, most of you know my Mum is a huge cat lover who treats her fur babies like gold and loves them endlessly. Her cat Mocha was lethargic and not eating well for a few days so she took him to the Maritime Emergency Vet Hospital for a check up Saturday (Jan. 3) thinking it would be a minor issue and she'd leave with some meds to clear it up. Unfortunately Mocha has a "preliminary diagnosis" of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Since yesterday the vet bill has risen to $4041 as it's difficult to diagnose without multiple tests, also he's too sick to be home so will spend his second night in the hospital tonight. The Vet bill could potentially be over $5000 once all the tests are completed plus $600 - $800 for a "one time" regime of meds that can improve his survival rate and control the symptoms. I know everyone's struggling with living expenses but if you can find it in your heart to donate what you can afford Mum and the family would appreciate it! She's going thru a really hard time with this and facing a hit like this on her credit card isn't helping. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity!
