My name is Tatiana Reed. I am a senior Health Science Major with a double minor in Medical Assisting and Nutrition, Health, and Wellness. I am a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. In order to finish my curriculum and requirements I must complete a summer internship and earn 240 hours. I am very excited to announce that I will be joining St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC as a Summer 2022 Intern! I am so thankful for this opportunity, but in order to fulfill this last requirement I must pay the balance for the 6 credit hours for the internship. Due to the financial aid and federal pell grant reaching its maximum amount, due to taking extensive summer classes, I am need of a few helping hands to cover the balance.
It’s been a long hard journey the past three years with living on my own, maintaining two jobs, going to school, and juggling my mother’s health issues. She has always been my back bone when I needed that extra helping hand, but in the most recent year due to surgery, she has not been able to help me. I also recently had an accident in November that totaled my car which makes traveling difficult. I simply want to make everyone proud, and reach my short term goal of graduating from the University of Memphis with my Bachelors of Health Science on August 6, 2022. Any donation even so much a $1 could help me reach goal!
When one walks across the stage to receive their degree, you never know their story or the trials and tribulations it took for them to get there. You just realize the student made it, and hope their future is bright. I am simply trying to reach the end of this tunnel, and to further my education later for nursing schools I would like to get as close as I possibly could to the goal amount, but if I do not anything would truly help!
