Jerry is a 6 year old rescue cat who came to live with my family over 4 years ago. He was diagnosed with a rare pituitary tumour a week ago after he presented with uncontrolled diabetes due to the tumour. Getting the diagnosis nearly maxed out their vet insurance and they then spent nearly 8000 on the surgery required and subsequent care. Initially after surgery it was not looking likely he would recover but after several days he is making progress and has started to open his eyes, shuffle and respond to the vets cognitive tests.

However, a full recovery requires him to be in ICU longer and is going to take some time and is likely to get very expensive with it costing approx 800 a day at the moment. Hopefully less when he leaves ICU.

He may recover though if money was not an issue, cases like this are very rare so the vets cannot provide us with a clear indication of the outcome.

He is an extremely beloved cat and lives with 3 other cats, one of whom he is very bonded with, Bondie. Since Jerry has been gone Bondie has been going round the house crying at night looking for him.

Jerry and Bondie were from the same rescue center and were so bonded at the center that after Bondie was adopted Jerry was very depressed and they asked my family to take Jerry and their love for each other has remained ever since.

My family also adore Jerry and spend hours each day rubbing his tummy and loving him and they are heartbroken at the thought of losing him

If you can spare any money towards his care and recovery we would be so grateful as funds are running out but we appreciate times are hard so anything you can give would be so greatly appreciated.
