Hi, my name is Karyn, and I am reaching out on behalf of my husband (middle right in the photo. I want to see that smile again.
2 1/2 years ago he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After 32 rounds of radiation, we were told that he was cancer-free. Hallelujah! However our joy was short lived. It came back, hard. So much so that he had to have bladder removal surgery, and now has to wear both a urostomy and colostomy bag. But it doesn't end there. Now it has spread to the liver, aggressively, and he is currently undergoing both radiation and chemotherapy. Now he is so weak that he is no longer able to work, and as his wife I am his full-time caregiver now. Keeping track of meds, dosages, driving to a flurry of appointments, dealing with the mood swings, brain fog, helping him with basics such as changing clothes and keeping clean....etc etc etc.
Understandably our funds are being depleted, and I have not had much luck going through government agencies for assistance, because he was self-employed and so did not have a company benefit plan.
I am very scared for our future....will I lose our home, can we pay the day-to-day bills while dealing with the mounting expenses for medical supplies, medications, travel....on and on and on.
Can you spare anything...even $20, to help my family, or rather to help me help them? He also has 2 daughters back in Germany who we can't even afford to bring over to see their papa!
Anyway, thank you for reading, and ANY help at all would be considered a Godsend, and would be highly highly appreciated.
THANK YOU in advance!!!!!
