Hi friends.

This is a difficult message to write, but I will not let my shame, pride or embarrassment stop me from getting my son the financial help he needs.

I made a huge mistake that I am so incredibly upset about.

He graduated college in Aug 2023. I knowingly took out 2 parent loans to help pay for his college education. The plan was I was gonna take out the loans and make the payments and when he graduated and got a good job using his degree he would take over them. I wanted him to have a clean slate when he graduated.

Now comes my error…..First let me say, my son is a first generation graduate on both my side of the family and my husbands. He’s my first born. My pride and joy. I was helping him complete his financial applications for college. Since I was new to all this, I thought what were “grants” being offered were actually loans. Now, some were grants. I may sound ignorant but I thought you had to apply for loans not be offered them. Me being a dumb dumb started accepting them to ensure we had enough to cover his college tuition.

Fast forward to 7/31/25, he applies for a loan to get a new car (his gave out) and we find out he is in debt $27,000 and is in TERRIBLE standing on his credit report!

I cried my eyes out. I put him in a such a bad place! He’s in debt and his credit is terrible. He can’t take out a car loan or get his own place with his credit score.

Can you imagine waking up one day thinking you have no debts, and your only concern was that you would be turned down on a loan because you have no credit, only to find out that afternoon that you have terrible credit and owe thousands of dollars in debt. My poor son.

I feel terrible, and to make matters worse I do not have the financial ability to get him out of this.

Now, comes my plea…Can any of you find it in your hearts to help my son? I am asking if you can, please consider donating $1.00. I do not want to be responsible for putting anyone in any financial distress. I figured if 27000 people put in a dollar we can reach our goal.

If you can’t donate please, please pray for me and my son. Pray that God keeps us calm and gives us His peace as we try to figure out this mess.
