This fundraiser has been set up by Sonia Rana and Lakhbir Rana to honour the legacy of their mother, Rani - a super-survivor, who bravely fought cancer for over a decade against all odds. Rani was also able to live with, and face cancer with dignity.
This is thanks to treatment, care, and her unforgettable warrior spirit.
Can Fight Cancer Society
Punjab, in north India has a concerningly high number of cancer cases, with reports suggesting it's reaching near-endemic levels, attributed in part to environmental factors.
Sadly, many cancer patients here cannot, or struggle to afford treatment and care. They are also faced with inadequate public health care.
Can Fight Cancer Society is an NGO dedicated to this much-needed cause. They work hard to provide support and hope to individuals and families affected by cancer in and around Ludhiana, Punjab - a cancer hot spot. Core services include:
• Palliative care through their Sarparasti hospice
• Free home care and nursing services
• Financial assistance for treatment
The society is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers - including a range of doctors who donate their time to give free patient treatment. Other services include free cancer screenings and awareness campaigns.
Their mission is to combat cancer at all stages through prevention, early detection, treatment, and palliative care, ensuring patients live with dignity.
Please help by making whatever donation you can and spreading the word about this fundraiser - your support is greatly and genuinely appreciated.
Donors will be updated on how they have made a difference.
Please note: You can opt out of the tip for GoFundMe when donating.
