Cam's Journey to Howard College of Dentistry

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I have recently been accepted to Howard University College of Dentistry's class of 2025. Attending dental school and becoming a dentist has been a dream of mine since I was in the sixth grade, and I cannot describe the blessing it has been to see it all come to fruition. Black folks comprise 3.7% of dentists in the profession, so it is an honor to be able to increase representation of not only Black people, but also Black women, as I take the skills and learning I receive back to my community through my time at HUCD and following graduation.
This fall I will be relocating to Washington, D.C. to begin my first year, and I am beyond excited. However, due to the rigor and demand of my dental program I will be unable to work for the entirety of my D1 year. I have spent the last year working multiple jobs to save for my upcoming moving and living expenses, but I decided to establish this GoFundMe to further reduce the amount of loans I will need to borrow to fund my education for this first year of my four year program - which stands at about $80k.
